Organizing your music library

The library is where you organize your music collection. You use it to quickly locate and play your favorite songs.

Click the Browse button to display a list of all your songs, organized by album and artist. To sort the listing, click the column heading. (For example, click Song to sort by song title.) To change the sort order (forward or reverse), click the triangle in the selected column's heading. To rearrange the columns, drag the headings into the order you want. To resize a column, drag the borders between the column headers.

To display the musical genre of an album when you're browsing, choose Preferences from the iTunes application menu. Then click Show Genre When Browsing.
